Senior Diversity and Inclusion Consultant
Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is 1 of the 12 regional banks that together with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors make up the Central bank of the United States. We are seeking candidates for a Senior Diversity and Inclusion Consultant to help plan and execute complex initiatives related to the Bank's culture, talent pipeline, and community and branding efforts.
The bank has a staff of about 1500 across offices in Chicago, Detroit, and Des Moines engaged in economic research, providing banking services to the banking industry, supervision the banking system, distributing cash to banks in the region, and contribution to running the largest payment system in the world. This role will allow a Diversity and Inclusion expert the opportunity to work with wide range of employees and shape an organization that makes a significant impact on the economic well-being of the country.
We will be accepting applications through June, 22 with interviews to begin in late June.
Candidates may work primarily from our Chicago or Detroit offices.
Job Summary
Act as a subject matter expert, internal consultant, and project manager to Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (FRBC) management on large and complex Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) projects. Provide a wide range of D&I business consulting services, including implementing and leading projects, business
process design, D&I business case analysis, and advice on strategic D&I issues. Initiate and cultivate relationships with leaders and staff, assisting them in identifying barriers and opportunities to employee recruitment, development, promotion, and retention. Support business units and other stakeholders in
creating and sustaining inclusive cultures and behaviors to drive business results and performance. Perform advanced, specialized and administrative duties in designated D&I program or section area. Responsible for providing high-level support in the administration of D&I and HR programs. May provide
work direction to others and coordinate people resources.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expert / Senior Project Manager
Implement, monitor, and evaluate the FRBC D&I strategic plan by aligning FRBC practices and processes to support diversity objectives
Research, evaluate, and propose industry best practices in D&I to be considered by senior leadership and other senior internal stakeholders
Contribute to and develop high quality communications, reports, and presentations on FRBC D&I performance
Influence FRBC leadership by socializing the D&I strategic plan, the value proposition of D&I, and the critical role of D&I goals at both the FRBC and senior leadership levels Internal / External Consultant
Consult with senior leadership to identify, recommend, and implement D&I solutions to enhance business performance and human capital needs, building on strengths in order to address areas of opportunity
Support the FRBC Employee Support Network Groups (ESNGs) strategy and serve as consultant to the groups as they implement their strategic plans
Effectively collaborate with Human Resources function, including co-leading and supporting integration of D&I in employee recruitment, development, promotion, retention and other HR processes, and with the Supplier Diversity function
Work closely with consulting firms to maximize D&I resources offered to the FRBC and its departments
Ensure program or section area is in compliance with established D&I strategies, policies and procedures
Assist with developing, coordinating, and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow in the program or section area
Identify and manage inherent people and culture risks within the FRBC to ensure an effective internal control environment, and assesses and implements controls to mitigate those risks.
May lead project teams, including the planning, assigning, and/or supervising the work of others
