Specific Job Responsibilities

The Senior Manager – Diversity and Talent Management leads a group of employees who design and implement development training programs to enhance the effectiveness of managers and teams to increase organization productivity and customer satisfaction. Assesses critical business issues and designs organization development and strategic plans to enhance company performance. Provides development, coaching and training managers on leadership skills. Advises managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and recommends needed changes. Supports change initiatives. Ensures projects are completed with acceptable quality, on schedule, and within budget. May participate in strategy development for the enterprise. The Sr. Manager – Diversity and Talent Management will report to the Chief Human Resource Officer.

The employee’s primary duty is management of the enterprise, or of a customarily recognized department or subdivision thereof, and includes duties, such as: interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting and adjusting pay and work hours; maintaining records; appraising employee productivity and grievances; disciplining employees, and planning and apportioning work among employees. The employee customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more employees (meaning two full-time employees or their equivalent (equivalent means, for example, one full-time employee and two half-time employees is the equivalent of two full-time employees).

Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required

Work independently in identifying and resolving issues, concerns and problems; acquire subject matter expertise in the functions and activities including applicable laws, rules, regulations, procedures and technical operations; use troubleshooting and analytical skills; read, interpret and apply complex technical documentation; analyze, evaluate and integrate business processes and procedures; write logical, comprehensive, concise reports and correspondence; communicate effectively orally and in writing using language understandable to management and staff; work effectively with vendors, clients, users and management; develop recommendations and solutions; promote and maintain a team environment; work effectively, independently and follow through on assignments; accept work assignments from multiple managers and work areas; handle multiple and parallel projects.

Position will be required to protect sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Education & Relevant Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or other related discipline with at least 10 years of progressive professional experience in Human Resources, Talent Management and/or Workforce Diversity including at least three years of management experience.

In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 18 years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience will be evaluated and considered for equivalency to these requirements.

The job level will be determined based upon relevant education and experience of the selected candidate. Internal applicants currently in the same ladder, if selected, will maintain their current level and pay.

For internal applicants whose career levels may be higher than the career level range indicated on the job posting, we will consider the scope of work being performed, in addition to a candidate’s education and experience, when determining whether a lateral move is warranted.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
