Reporting to the Associate Provost for Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer, the Assistant Provost provides strategic and tactical support, and helps promote a culture of equity at Northwestern. The Assistant Provost provides visible leadership onu0026shy; campus through active and effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, assisting with the coordination and management of efforts aimed at creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/pu003Eu003Cpu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003EIndependently managing various projects, the Assistant Provost coordinates campus-wide initiatives and interacts with senior staff throughout the University. This is a full-time, campus-based position. assists with diversity, equity and inclusion strategy development and implementation; recommends and creates long and short term goals and operational plans; stays abreast of current trends in diversity, equity, inclusion and campus community building best practices, and recommends new policies or changes in programs.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003EManages daily operations of the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion; supervises Office staff, students and temporary employees.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003EDevelops and manages Office marketing and communications strategy, overseeing Office staff in the production and maintenance of the website and Office communications.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003EDevelops and implements methods for assessing success of initiatives; generates regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003ECollaborates with and supports institutional leadership, academic deans, department and unit heads involved with diversity, equity and inclusion work; assists with planning and supports the work of Office Leadership Partners: Executive Advisory Group, University Diversity Council, Multicultural Alumni Council, and Diversity Leaders Group, with direct oversight of the latter; and Affiliates: Women's Center, and Center for Native American and Indigenous Research.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003EOversees major Office programming, such as Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration, Annual Faculty Receptions and Socials.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003ESupports the work of the Office in collaboration with University partners including, but not limited to: Faculty Excellence and Diversity Initiative, Provost's Advisory Council on Women Faculty, Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching, University Libraries, Alumni Relations and Development, Undergraduate Enrollment: Admissions and Financial Aid, Human Resources, Black Professionals Network, Unidos: Latinx Professionals Coalition, Northwestern Staff Advisory Council, Government Relations, Neighborhood and Community Relations, Student Affairs, professional schools, graduate and undergraduate colleges and schools; assists and consults with University partners on development of diversity, equity and inclusion training for faculty and staff.u003C/spanu003Eu003C/spanu003Eu003C/liu003Eu003Cliu003Eu003Cspanu003Eu003Cspanu003EProvides visible leadership on-campus through active and effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders;
