* Videos * Duties HelpDuties Summary About the Position: Serves as a staff level Equal Employment Specialist providing support for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with responsibility providing Equal Employment Opportunity guidance and direction to managers and employees. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities * Process informal complaints of discrimination to include medicatons, investigations and hearings. * Use the database to extract reports in order to review, analyze, and evaluate the diversity posture of serviced activities as reflected in quarterly and annual statistics. * Conduct studies and barrier analyses to determine if members of groups with low participation rates are being afforded equal opportunity for employment and advancement. * Serve as a Program Manager for the center providing program management, planning, guidance, and leadership for individuals with disabilities. * Conduct Equal Employment Opportunity subject matter training to activity personnel to insure their understanding of roles and responsibilities. * Develop program evaluation approaches including the Management Directive 715 (MD715), the Disabled Veterans Affirmative Action program (DVAAP), Hispanic Employment Program (HEP) and the Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Program (FEORP) plans. * Assure that all requirements for pre-complaint counseling and complaints processing are fulfilled in compliance with regulations and with full coordination with appropriate staff elements (e.g., legal counsel and personnel officials). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in development, implementing, and administering plans of action, providing guidance and assistance with data as needed on matters affecting the workforce, and evaluate and prepare reports on the effectiveness of the Equal Employment Opportunity program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
