Office of Diversity and Inclusion
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is one of seven departments within the Division of Student Affairs. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion inspires values that recognize, first and foremost, the inherent dignity of every person. We cultivate an inclusive environment where differences are recognized and respected by serving as a catalyst, providing support, and ensuring collaboration and accountability. Our purpose is fulfilled when our campus influences the global community through critical dialogue and action, challenging societal injustices to create positive social change. Reporting to the Director of Diversity and Inclusion, the Assistant Director of Diversity and Inclusion will provide direct student mentoring and oversight for student-led programming.

Maintain oversight of social justice-oriented student programming through supervision of Equity and Justice Council
Provide advising, developmental experiences, and leadership opportunities for multiple identity-based student organizations including the Latino Student Leaders
Organization, Black Student Alliance, PRIDE, Asian Student Association, and Hilltop Student Veterans Association
Assist key student organizations (e.g. Monarchs on the Hilltop, League of United Latin American Citizens, African Students Organization) with supplemental advising and
leadership training
Actively participate on university and divisional work teams including Common Theme Committee, International Entry Committee, and Title IX Advocate Program
Plan and execute signature welcome and graduation events targeting identity-based populations including Black Student Welcome, Queer Camp, Latinx Graduation, Lavender Graduation, and Black Student Graduation
Assist in planning and leading Social Justice Journey, an alternative break-style experience focused around a social justice theme.
Advance campus engagement around equity issues, international vibrancy, and inclusion efforts for underrepresented populations
Supervise multiple student staff members and occasionally supervise graduate student interns and practicum students
Support community programs and processes that increase anti-bias awareness, equity and inclusion strategies, and diversity in general through collaboration with campus community stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in college student personnel, education, or related field
One to two years of experience in diversity affairs, student activities, or related functional areas
Evidence of significant supervisory or advisory experience of student leaders
Engaged in practice informed by a consideration to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
Knowledge and understanding of student development and leadership theory
Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, written and oral
Ability to collaborate with diverse faculty, staff and students
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as appropriate
Successful candidate must complete an employment and/or criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications
Experienced trainer and facilitator for diverse populations around issues of diversity, inclusion, and social justice
Practiced in programming for and advising identity-based student groups
Strong skills in advising, programming, assisting in student development, and communication
Demonstrated commitment to the concepts explicit in the university mission of community, collaboration, holistic education, and service within the context of a value-based, progressive Catholic university.
Ability to manage multiple budgets associated with student programs and activities
