Responsibilities

The Supervisory Operations Research Analyst assigned to the Safety Analysis and Promotion Division, AFS-900, leads the Safety Analysis Program Office to meet their customer support, program development and support responsibilities, as well as the objectives of the major subdivision. Work performed includes, but not limited to, the analysis of certification and surveillance work program trends; analysis of safety data derived from Flight Standards' databases; making recommendations from outcome of analysis; and monitoring standard application of national surveillance programs, policies, and procedures. Provides analytical support to Flight Standards Executive Staff, field, headquarters and national program office , and provides authoritative advice, guidance oversight, leadership in the formulation, development, and conduct of highly complex, controversial and significant analytical tools, using U.S. and global data to evaluate safety risks and hazards.

Specialized Experience:

To qualify for this position at the payband K, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J or GS/FG-14 in Normal line of progression. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience may include but is not limited to:

-- Technical knowledge and operational expertise related to inspector reporting systems.

-- Foundational knowledge of SMS, the application of components of system safety, with special emphasis on, but not limited to, SAS and RBDM.

Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
