Assist in the Project specific safety and accident prevention program.
Participate in Weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings and perform regular Job Site inspections.
Lead McCarthy’s Task Hazard Analysis (THA) process.
Maintain safe work areas.
Anticipate hazards for future tasks and identify them during the work plan process.
Have technical knowledge of all welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems. Utilize this knowledge to allocate resources, plan activities, review completed work, and manage equipment and consumables.
Be able to manage multiple crews performing various tasks across the same project site.
Have a thorough understanding of the project schedule and assigned tasks cost budgets. Establish an effective plan to perform work with-in the established budgets and schedule durations.
Establish and implement effective ways of keeping an overall good morale with crews.
Prepare 3 week construction schedules and communicate with Superintendent. Schedule equipment, inspection, and manpower needs with Superintendent.
Put together complete and comprehensive bill of materials, coordinate all material deliveries, and inventory all materials delivered to job site. Help review submittals with Project Engineers as they pertain to welding/fabrication/mechanical systems.
Be able to communicate effectively with Owner representatives, Inspectors, and other trades. Obtain any Owner required or internal permits for daily construction activities.
Be well versed in DOT regulated work. Be able to pass and comply with all the Operator Qualifications, drug testing, and certifications DOT regulated work requires.
Be able to comprehend contract drawings and specification requirements. Monitor the work of crews and verify these requirements along with McCarthy and the Owner’s quality processes are followed.
Assist the Project Superintendent in locating, interviewing, and on-boarding man power for various projects.
Assist the Project Superintendent in the development of a Project Site Logistics Plan and in implementing the plan.
Assist in maintaining a current set of Contract Documents, including As-Built Plans. Establish and maintain the weld mapping procedure/documentation for the project.
Be able to create accurate isometric drawings so field measurements can be sent off-site for fabrication.
Document daily construction activities (i.e., Daily Logs, Crew Time Sheets, Clean-up Notices, Backcharge Notices, etc.).
Assist Project Engineers in/during the Shop Drawing and Submittal Process as it pertains to welding or fabrication. Point out items or areas which may need special attention and/or review.
