This is a FAA Executive position. This position serves as the Director, Information Technology (IT) Solution Delivery.
Deputy Assistant Administrator for Information and Technology
The Director, Information Technology (IT) Solution Delivery provides executive direction and oversight of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Information Technology application development, application sustainment, enterprise architecture, information delivery services for the FAA Mission Support domain and the agency's information sharing strategy. He/she oversees a geographically dispersed workforce of managers, information management technology specialists and support professionals responsible for the design, development, and support of technical solutions for over 47,000 IT customers across the FAA.
Collaborates with all IT Shared Services leadership to define and develop the IT strategy for the Agency including web, social media and multimedia services. Oversees the successful accomplishment of Solution Delivery Service organizations' business plan targets and other initiatives that support the IT strategy.
Develops and sustains IT application services, including solution architecture, requirements, application design, testing, maintenance, and support. Aligns the FAA's Solution Development Lifecycle with modern IT practices that meet FAA needs.
Oversees the solution architecture and design, database design, prototype design and modeling.
Tests cycles throughout the lifecycle of the solution delivery methodology and ensures smooth transition into the production environment.
Develops and coordinates maintenance releases for applications.
Serves as co-chair of the FAA Enterprise Architecture Board (FEAB), which governs the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS) and Mission Support architectures. Partners with the NextGen Director of the Office of the NAS Systems Engineering and Integration Office to ensure the FAA adheres to Federal statutory and regulatory Enterprise Architecture (EA) requirements, to align IT decisions with business and investment strategies, and to champion EA throughout the Agency.
Provides leadership, oversight, and guidance to the Mission Support Enterprise Architect in the execution of all EA activities, including: development, maintenance, enhancement, and publication of the technical standards, technical roadmap, and applicable EA documentation.
Directs and guides the integration and operational implementation of technology in support of FAA business processes.
Develops and executes the FAA Cloud strategy. Directs and guides the migration of FAA applications to the Cloud. Works with other IT leaders to continue evolving the FAA's use of Cloud capabilities that drive efficiency and resilience/availability of applications.

TECHNICAL REQUIRMENT: Experience with data-driven design, development, and support of technical solutions including web & mobile applications, business intelligence, collaboration, content and document management for IT customers.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT: Experience directing and migrating the use of Cloud capabilities that drive efficiency, resilience, and availability of applications.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT: Experience solving complex issues/problems in an IT matrix organization.
