THE OPPORTUNITY:Under the direction of the Associate Vice President, Office of Human Resources, the Diversity Officer will guide the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives which will support the University's strategic plan.The Diversity Officer serves as the Title IX Coordinator for Oregon Tech.The Diversity Officer will engage faculty, staff, and students to build a welcoming and inclusive culture at Oregon Tech.The Diversity Officer will assess potential barriers and recommend strategies focused on recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.The Diversity Officer will design trainings on cultural competency, gender differences, disability, sexual harassment, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values, and maintain compliance with applicable laws.The Diversity Officer will also coordinate compliance with Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other applicable requirements.The Diversity Officer proactively develops and implements plans, programs, and activities that educate and motivate the university community to hold pluralism and inclusion as core values and fosters a climate that respects diversity; conducts thorough and impartial investigations related to discrimination, harassment and retaliation.RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate will be an individual with outstanding academic credentials who can support the department in the strategic program development and curriculum design to sustain a progressive, nationally recognized program.The successful candidate's academic responsibilities will include the developing and teaching of both courses and laboratories in Electrical Power, Motors\/Generators, and Data Acquisition Systems & Instrumentation.The successful candidate shouldQUALIFICATIONS:Required:Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of specialization and five (5) years or more of progressively responsible experience.Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Ability to attain 40 hours of required training in Title IX within first month of hire.Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral\/written communication skills.Willing and able to travel and work weekends\/evenings.Preferred:Experience working with and conducting investigations in EEO\/AA, Title IX, discrimination, and diversity arenas.
