We are seeking a Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion Programs. This leader is responsible for the implementation, execution and follow-up on diversity programs in alignment with Nielsen?s overall diversity & inclusion strategy.

This leader will be the primary contact for Nielsen?s Global Employee Resource Groups and Inclusion Ambassadors. Responsibilities will include providing guidance with program ideation (to ensure alignment with the D&I pillars, focus areas and framework), implementation, process standardization, engagement, support, recognition and escalation as necessary. This leader will also champion the ERGs and Global Ambassadors throughout the organization by collaborating with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, TED, Commercial Teams, etc. to ensure we infuse D&I into Nielsen?s DNA. Collaboration is a key skill to ensure Global Ambassadors are supported around the globe in their efforts to build out local diversity journey frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the operations of the Employee Resource Groups to ensure their focus on the four operating pillars (Recruitment/Retention, Community Outreach, Professional Development and Education/Engagement) provides engagement and business impact across Nielsen.

Manage the operations of the Global Ambassadors as part of the Nielsen Global Inclusion Council as they seek to utilize the Diversity Journey Framework to identify and plan for local programs and initiatives based upon the region/countries need for Awareness, Discovery, Understanding, Integration and Realization of D&I goals specific to their region of the globe

Partner and leverage other Nielsen departments (i.e. HR, Community Alliances & Engagement, Nielsen Cares, Supplier Diversity, etc.) to create a collaborative and engaging environment where the ERGs and Global Ambassadors are embraced companywide as providing business impact and engaging these volunteers of employees to make a difference and grow with Nielsen.

Monitor ERGs budget allocations to ensure alignment to four pillars. Use budget planning as a leadership development opportunity for ERG co-leads.

Leverage Global Ambassador, ERG Co-Lead and ERG Sponsor roles as leadership development opportunities partnering with HR to identify high caliber top talent for these roles during TR1 and TR2.

Advertise and champion ERG impact to the broader Nielsen enterprise with news stories and events such as the ERG Leadership Summit, enERGize Week, ERG produced Diverse Intelligence Series events, etc. Also share progress on Diversity Journey Framework initiatives that accentuate our global diversity programs and progress.

Expand ERGs based upon need, desire, appropriate infrastructure and alignment to the D&I Strategy.

Utilize business process improvement tools to create simple, standardized processes for ERGs and the Global Ambassadors.

Ensure ERGs are represented within University Recruiting, ELP and ELA programs by planning representation, tracking participation and reporting ROI.

Be a conduit to communicate diversity programs (using all mediums) in an effort to increase awareness, attendance and engagement of D&I

Align programs across all of Nielsen in conjunction with other initiatives to share the messaging to all employees, to add a spotlight from a specific ERG perspective or region of the globe and to increase engagement (i.e. Healthy Measures ? targeting diabetes or Bone Marrow, nationally recognized days such as Disabled Employees or Diwali and Nielsen Cares Global Impact Days)

Be a cheerleader to recognize and reward champions of diversity in action. Work with broader OCDO Team to create a quarterly reward and recognition program for managers who support D&I initiatives, programs and strategies.

Maintain tracking and reporting on ERG membership, ERG expenses, etc.

Champion ERG initiatives to augment, improve or change Nielsen?s overall policies (i.e. LGBT partner benefits, disabled recruitment and accommodations, etc.)

Host annual (face-to-face) and quarterly development sessions to enhance the career, training and knowledge of the ERG Leaders and Sponsors.

Review and rank ERG Leader performance annually for TR1.

Develop of dashboards and metrics to quantify and track program results, finances and goal attainment

Create communications regarding the ERG and Global Ambassador program using for the OCDO Google Site, NewsCenter, Twitter/LinkedIn, etc. in collaboration with the OCDO Marketing & Communications Team.

Work with other D&I programs (including client ERGs) to ensure the ongoing health, growth, and maturity of the program.

Assist CDO with the planning and execution of the Nielsen Diversity and Nielsen Global Inclusion Councils.


7-10 years of relevant work experience, including 5 years of experience in a D&I role

Bachelor?s degree

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Interpersonal skills

Presentation skills

Proficient in MS Office Program and/or Google for Work

Managerial experience

Project Management knowledge
