Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) that brings our Company's stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than 100 categories, from toys and t-shirts, to apps, books and console games. The part-time HR and D&I Specialist performs a wide range of responsibilities within a framework set by HR leadership and the business client in support of our HR service delivery model which includes strategy development, organization design, global talent management, organization and employee effectiveness, change and transition management, and functional HR integration. This position will also provide support to the Diversity and Inclusion team with research and education, cross segment support, and administrative needs.

Responsibilities :

Responsibilities include providing advice to employees/clients on the appropriate interpretation and application of HR policies, processes and practices including working with functional subject matter experts, team members, and leaders to complete tasks. This person will serve as the main point of service contact for client related questions and business issues, and will assess, prioritize and act on client requests as needed and communicate needs that require additional support to the appropriate source. (e.g. Employee Relations, Compensation, Organization Management, Talent Acquisition, Global HR Operations).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality, timely and professional client service and follow-through

Support on-going diversity and inclusion initiatives in the area of workforce, workplace, and marketplace

Assist in the development and implementation of D&I education/activations across levels and business in support of the three D&I strategic pillars: People, Culture, and Market

Establish and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with HR functional partners

Provide support to a variety of HR programs and initiatives including talent planning, employee survey collection and analysis, partnering with recruiting to fill open positions, organizational planning, workforce planning, and others

Understand the dynamics of the business and supports/drives HR practices and processes that will help create an effective organization

Coordinate with appropriate partners for off-boarding related activities with a focus on conducting exit interviews, sensitive separations, etc.

Adapt approach to different client groups and develop a deep understanding of nuances, processes, and internal/external factors affecting the business

Positively confront issues and resolve conflict

Effectively manage project work from beginning-to-end while balancing priorities

Serve as a main point of contact to org management and talent acquisition on employee data updates within SAP

Assist the Diversity and Inclusion team with administrative assistance, research and cross segment support such as:

Handle administrative needs and calendars for the team

Create agendas and manage logistics of meetings/events

Track participation of employees at TWDC external sponsored events and conferences

Support daily management of DCPI’s 8 BERGs (Business & Employee Resource Groups)

Schedule and assist with all BERG events and activities

Create experiential learning opportunities for BERG leaders

Summarize and prepare data/insights from BERGs for Key Stakeholders

Assist in advising/providing guidance in the administration of HR related policies, processes, and procedures such as:

Position Management

Conduct ratings calibration data collection

Provide information to leaders and HRBP’s in the development of talent solutions such as resources for career development and learning opportunities or job descriptions for hiring

Proactively document, maintain, and organize HR programs and processes

Stay current on changes to HR policies and processes, and communicate changes to employees and leaders

Create reports and presentations that discuss the findings of a research project

As needed, administer local recognition programs and employee development offerings such as Lunch & Learns

Maintain accurate org charts for client areas

Basic Qualifications :

At least 1-2 years’ experience in an HR or customer/client service oriented professional role

Demonstrates business orientation and acumen

Passion for diversity and inclusion

Strong service orientation (open, inviting, respectful and courteous)

Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated at all levels, including executive level

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Approachable style; ability to connect with employees and establish rapport

Proven ability to work with confidential information

Sound judgment and decision making

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment; flexible and adaptable

Ability to effectively partner and collaborate (internally and externally)

Ability to develop strong relationships at all levels within the organization

Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Power-point, Outlook; SAP and the Internet

Preferred Qualifications :

Significant knowledge of HR systems, policies and processes such as: SAP (Display HR Master Data, Org hierarchy overview, and Display position), hiring approval processes, performance management processes, and talent and succession planning processes

Experience in Diversity & Inclusion

Required Education :

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Management, Human Resources Management or related discipline
