The Office of Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) designs strategies to help Humana achieve successful business outcomes; equips business function areas to build and cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture representative of the communities we serve; and influences leaders to demonstrate inclusive leader behaviors. Our purpose is to drive inclusive and belonging behaviors through leader and associate experiences that will accelerate individual performance and development and move Humana forward. Together with key partners like the Executive I&D Council, Network Resource Groups, Business-Aligned I&D Councils, and Culture & Engagement professionals, we strive to maximize our vibrant diversity and inclusive culture to help the communities we serve achieve their best health.
Responsibilities
The Director of Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Strategy will be accountable for creating a tailored strategic plan (along with business segment leadership) and implementing that plan to advance culture, inclusion and diversity, talent pipelining and development and, ultimately, achieve Humana's business outcomes. The Director of Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Strategy develops and possesses a deep knowledge of the aligned business segments, key employees and business processes. The Director, Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Strategy acts as the chief point of contact for the corporate area's Management Team and Management Team 1, managers and leaders in the corporate business unit function areas in the inclusion and diversity agenda.
The Director of Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Strategy serves as the chief liaison for a team of I&D Business Partner Lead roles, coordinating the alignment of business outcomes, goal-setting, communication tools and strategic outcomes. The incumbent possesses and builds a strong business relationship with the corporate business areas and transfers I&D requests and solutions to and from business units. Drawing from a broad range of experience in culture, inclusion, and diversity this incumbent will solve for problems that are diverse in scope with a moderate to substantial range of complexity.
The incumbent acts as a liaison to Humana's business segments to advance our culture, inclusion, diversity and equity agenda. Highly collaborative, the role serves as an advisor to the Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer, AVP of Workforce and Culture, Business Partner Leads, HR-Business Partners, Human Capital Analytics, Communications and other partners across the HR organization. The person in this role will advance diverse and inclusive business strategies by building organizational capability, driving well-being, engagement and change management through the assessment, development and deployment of talent.
Responsibilities:
The Director, Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Strategy:
Leads strategy development, I&D initiatives, and implementation through partnership with the assigned management teams and I&D councils; Develops and drives the strategic plan and vision linked to I&D goals for all aligned leaders and organizations. Collaborates and advises aligned business partners to achieve goals, action plans, communication strategies and key initiatives. Develops reporting tools and dashboards to monitor progress. Directly supports aligned executives and their organizations
Builds a strong, trusting business relationship with aligned leaders and organizations
Acts as a business partner; advises leaders on all I&D-related opportunities and gaps and drives initiatives to positively impact each organization's business goals and objectives
Provides leadership to drive a high performance team-based culture
Partners with specialized HR areas including human capital analytics, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, organizational effectiveness, learning, Inclusion & Diversity, and HR shared services to ensure organizational needs are fully met
Implements best practices and supports the delivery of core HR processes (e.g. performance management, talent management, and compensation planning)
Facilitates leadership development, talent development and growth, and key talent retention efforts
Develops and manages I&D goals and quarterly score card. Makes recommendations towards annual AIP accountability to I&D enterprise goals
Works with HR Business Partners on HR initiatives: talent acquisition, retention programs, workforce planning initiatives, equity measurements and I&D scorecard achievements
Identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to mitigate risks
Acts to enhance organization effectiveness and promote positive organizational changes
Leads change management projects and manages I&D-related internal communications
Advises executives in the development of functional strategies related to matters of significance
Accesses insights from HR I&D Dashboards and talent analytics to grow and maintain diverse leadership talent across the business
Holds the enterprise accountable for maintaining a multicultural, anti-racist and anti-oppressive environment
Implements best practices and supports the delivery of I&D processes at the business unit/area level
Identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks
Acts as the performance improvement driver and promotes positive changes in the achievement of Humana's enterprise I&D goals
Leads change management projects and manages I&D-related internal and external communication
Advises executives in the development of functional strategies (segment specific) in matters of significance
Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision
Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of various factors and determines the best course of action
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree
5 years leading, managing and collaborating within a team
Experience developing and managing I&D strategic advocacy activities that achieve desired outcomes
Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed organization, with proven ability to work collaboratively through various departments and functional areas, promoting a culture of proactive teamwork
Extensive experience writing and developing effective and motivational content for advocacy activities
Understanding of advocacy activities at federal, state and local levels
Demonstrated experience with a variety of strategic partnership roles including workforce initiatives, special events, corporate giving, and promotion
Preferred Requirements
Advanced degree is preferred
Location: Prefer Louisville, KY or Washington DC but candidates can potentially work remotely from any location
Data mindset and experience making data driven decisions
